Barry Allen aka The Flash is arguably the most popular and recognizable speedster in film, television, and comics and there's a good reason why he's dubbed as the "Fastest Man Alive". However, Marvel Studios' new offering Eternals marks the MCU debut of a female celestial named Makkari who also happens to share The Flash's core abilities and powers and according to the actress who plays the part, she'll give Barry Allen a run for his money, and maybe Pietro Maximoff, too.

Makkari is the Marvel Cinematic Universe's first deaf superhero, played by actress Lauren Ridloff who also has a hearing impediment in real life. In the film, we see her run across the globe in a matter of seconds but does that make her quicker than DC's resident speedster? Well, in an interview with CineXpress, Ridloff claims that Makkari has the advantage over Barry Allen simply because "she travels faster than the speed of sound."

Her son seems to be on the fence though and even sided with the Scarlet Speedster. She explains: "Okay, so this is a conversation I had with my son. When he first found out that I was going to be the fastest woman in the universe he said, 'No you're not.' He brought over his laptop and looked into the computer and said, 'Look! It's true! Flash is faster than Makkari.'"

On Twitter, there's an ongoing debate as to which speedster between Makkari and The Flash is far more superios. Who ya got? Check out some of the reactions below:

No disrespect to Makkari, we've already proven how great she is but can she travel so fast that she could make the jump from one dimension to another? We all know for a fact that Barry Allen possesses the Speed Force which allows him to journey across timelines and it's definitely one of the best sets of powers any superhero can have. So yeah, until Makkari does something similar, my money is still on The Flash.

Marvel Studios' Eternals is now screening in cinemas.
