Ending Of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Sets Up Jurassic World 3

It looks like Jurassic World writer and producer Colin Trevorrow has a bigger plan for the Fallen Kingdom, saying that the ending to the film will help set the scene for Jurassic World 3.

Speaking in an interview with Sebas Tabany on YouTube, Trevorrow explains that there was always a plan to turn Jurassic World into a trilogy because his story had a beginning, a middle and of course, an end.

According to the writer, it's important to map out what kind of story you want for a trilogy and understand where you want to take your audience in all three films.

"I remember telling Steven [Spielberg] even while we were making the first movie, "This is the beginning. Here is the middle. And here's the end of the end." This is where we want to go. I feel like that kind of design is crucial to a franchise like this if you really want to bring people along with you and make sure they stay interested. It needs to be thought through on that level. It can't be arbitrary, especially if we want to turn this into a character-based franchise with people who you lean in to follow what they're going to do."

Though Trevorrow says that the Fallen Kingdom won't end with a cliffhanger, it'll help set up the story of what's going to happen next in Jurassic World 3.

"At the end of this movie, it's not a cliffhanger, but it's designed for people to want to know what's going to happen next, whereas the earlier Jurassic Park movies had pretty clear definitive endings. They were much more episodic. In working with Derek Connolly, my co-writer, we were also thinking about where it was gonna go in the future."

Fans already know that the Fallen Kingdom follows Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Bryce Howard Dallas) as they attempt to rescue the dinosaurs on Isla Nubar from a volcanic eruption. Not only has Legendary Pictures been generously giving away plot details in interviews with publications, but fans have felt like the studio has been giving too much away in the film's trailers. Let's hope that there are more surprises for everyone when Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom comes around on June 22, 2018.
