Emily Blunt Was Never Contacted For Captain Marvel Role

When a Captain Marvel film was first announced one popular choice to play the character was Emily Blunt. She has proven time and time again that she has the acting chops to make this role work. Though fans are happy with Brie Laren's casting they can't help but wonder what could have been with Blunt.

It turns out that the folks at Marvel think differently, as according to Blunt they didn't even bother contacting her.

During an interview with Screen Crush, the actress was asked about her knowledge of Captain Marvel and the rumors surrounding Blunt's involvement. According to Blunt, the rumors are false and Marvel didn't contact her, though she does think it's awesome that Larsen is playing as the superhero.

This didn't seem to deter Blunt much since the actress has remained busy. She will be in this year's Mary Poppins Returns, which looks good for those nostalgic about the original film. It's also the closest she'll be to a Disney superhero, at least for now.

Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 6, 2019.
