Fans of FromSoftWare's Dark Souls games will be familiar with Elden Ring's visual style. The new Elden Ring trailer is loaded with lore-heavy exposition that precedes most Dark Souls games.

Originally announced in June 2019 at E3, the fantasy RPG is a collaboration between FromSoftware and A Song of Ice and Fire author George R.R. Martin, and it will bring players to the Lands Between as a Tarnished to restore the Elden Ring and become the region.

Miyazaki previously explained how GRRM was involved with the game. Miyazaki described what he envisioned to the famous author: "This mythos proved to be full of interesting characters and drama along with a plethora of mystical and mysterious elements as well," Miyazaki said. "It was a wonderful source of stimulus for me and the development staff. Elden Ring's world was constructed using this mythos and stimulus as a base. Even I myself find it hard to contain my excitement from time to time. We hope that everyone else is looking forward to the world we have created."
