After the whole debacle with Ant-Man, Edgar Wright is back with a new movie called Baby Driver, an action-musical about a young getaway driver that tries to escape his life of crime. Early reviews for the movie have already been talking about how great the film is, and Sony has decided to move the release date up earlier.
Originally set for a release on Aug. 11, now Baby Driver is slated to hit cinemas on June 28. The news was confirmed by Wright himself:
This puts Baby Driver on the prime schedule for summer blockbusters. By the time the movie rolls out, it will have to compete with the likes of Despicable Me 3 and Transformers: The Last Knight. Reaction for the trailer has been very positive though, and with Wright's status as a filmmaker, Baby Driver is sure to bring in the audience.
Talented getaway driver Baby (Ansel Elgort) relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best in the game. After meeting the woman (Lily James) of his dreams, he sees a chance to ditch his shady lifestyle and make a clean break. Coerced into working for a crime boss (Kevin Spacey), Baby must face the music as a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom.
Baby Driver is set to hit theaters June 28.
