Electronic Arts has announced that the highly-anticipated video game Star Wars Jedi 3 will officially serve as the final installment in the series.

The first two games, Fallen Order and Survivor, were massive successes as both installments were well-received by fans and critics and considered some of the best Star Wars video games to date.

Since then, Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment have been working on a third installment that will continue Cal Kestis' journey in the galaxy far, far away. Now, we have an official word on whether it will conclude the series.

During Electronic Arts' Investor Day 2024 presentation, company president Laura Miele announced that Star Wars Jedi 3 will be the final installment in the video game series.

She didn't provide any other details regarding their plan for the third and final game as it is still in early development.

"Over 40 million Star Wars fans have connected with Cal Kestis and his arc of becoming a powerful Jedi. Respawn is working hard to bring the final chapter of this thrilling story to players," Miel said.

While we don't know yet what they have in store for Cal Kestis' final journey in the game series or whether it will be the last time that we see him in the franchise, it is major news for fans as they can now anticipate it as the conclusion of the trilogy when they play it.

It caps off a successful video game trilogy that has been considered to be one of the most successful Star Wars media in the last few years.

If Cal Kestis survives the events of the third game, it would pose a question of whether they will continue his journey in another video game series or they'll somehow integrate him into the live-action scripted projects.
