Dwayne Johnson Reportedly Set For Lead Role In MCU's Fantastic Four Reboot

In case you missed it, there is a huge chance that Dwayne Johnson might be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe soon. But who will the Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle star play in the MCU? A new report claims that Johnson is being considered for one of the lead roles in a possible Fantastic Four reboot.

This one is still on the rumor side but Johnson himself has already confirmed that he is planning a meeting with Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige. So is it possible that the two have already met up and the Jungle Cruise star has agreed to be in Fantastic Four? Marvel insider Roger Wardell has posted an intriguing tweet that teases on Johnson's possible role in the MCU.

"The Rock's 'Marvel role' is just another Vin Diesel situation, trying to build hype to get a meeting with Marvel," Wardell wrote.

It's interesting that Vin Diesel was mentioned in the tweet. After all, Diesel provides the voice of Groot. Not surprisingly, fans believe that this could mean Johnson could be the voice actor for The Thing. However, it's also possible that he will play Ben Grimm as well in the Fantastic Four reboot.

We're certainly loving the scoop but it's important to point out that there are currently no plans to bring back Fantastic Four. It was previously reported that Marvel will be waiting around five years before introducing the X-Men or Fantastic Four. For now, it's best to take this with a grain of salt.

In the meantime, Johnson's next film Hobbs & Shaw will premiere on August 2.
