Dragon Ball Creator Reveals What Inspired Him To Create Golden Frieza

Back in the day, Dragon Ball Z showed us Frieza's various forms, and the villain appeared to have maxed out his power when he reached his final form while fighting against Goku. However, Dragon Ball Super gave him another form and now, the Dragon Ball creator explains how he came up with the power-up.

One of Dragon Ball's archives was recently updated and it showed some fascinating art with fans. The site, called The Nearly Complete Works of Toriyama, presented the artist's designs of Golden Frieza from Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F', and it showed Frieza's new form and includes Toriyama's comment about the transformation.

Toriyama revealed that he decided to make Golden Frieza form because he couldn't find a way to simplify the villain's final form anymore.

"I couldn't make his form any simpler, so instead I mainly just changed his color," Toriyama explained. "Gold felt like the strongest, I guess because I associate it with Gold Medals."

So there you go. Toriyama couldn't figure out how to make Frieza's final form simpler so he chose to change his color instead. Maybe Frieza will have another form when the series returns, and who knows what color the iconic villain will have next.

Dragon Ball Super is available for streaming on Crunchyroll Saturdays at 7:15 p.m. CST.
