Netflix and BioWare collaborated to produce a new anime series based on the world of the popular fantasy RPG franchise, Dragon Age. All six episodes of Dragon Age: Absolution will be released on the streaming service in December 2022.
For those unfamiliar with the video game franchise, Dragon Age takes place on a fictional continent Thedas, and follows the experiences of various inhabitants. After debuting in 2019, Dragon Age has become one of the best-reviewed and award-winning video game franchises. The fourth game in the main series, Dreadwolf, is currently in development, but we still don't know if its story will be connected to the Netflix anime.
Dragon Age: Absolution is produced by the South Korean animation studio Red Dog Culture House, and Mairghread Scott serves as the showrunner of the anime series. Check out everything we know about Dragon Age: Absolution below:
Dragon Age: Absolution Release Date
In early November 2022, Netflix has announced that Dragon Age: Absolution will be released on December 9, 2022. All six episodes are expected to release all at once.
Dragon Age: Absolution Plot
Netflix already confirmed that Dragon Age: Absolution is set in Tevinter and features an ensemble of new characters inspire by the lore of the RPG franchise, including mages, elves, knights, demons, Red Templars, Qunari, and "other special surprises".
