Don't Expect Barb To Be Resurrected In Stranger Things Season 2

Aside from Millie Bobby Brown's Eleven, Stranger Things also found an unexpected fanbase for Nancy's friend Barb (I myself, am guilty of being a fan). Since Will Byers was saved from the Upside-Down, a lot of fans were hoping that they would see Barb come back in the second season. Sadly, it looks like it really won't be happening.

During an interview with Variety, the Duffer Brothers confirmed that "there's no resurrecting Barb." But they do admit that they didn't expect the character to get so popular among the fans.

"It was really surprising how much she took off," Matt Duffer says. "I related to her, so I think other people did as well."

Duffer may be right in the sense that Barb is relatable since a lot of people have probably felt like the unpopular friend who makes sacrifices for others, but ultimately gets the short end of the stick. It was kind of sad to see that she is probably one of the more selfless characters in the show, and she just ended up being taken by the Demigorgon.

I have been frequently hashtagging #JusticeForBarb whenever I get the chance, and though the Duffer Brothers themselves have confirmed it, I'm still holding out for Barb to come back in some way. Who knows? Maybe there's a way to reverse the whole slug-puking thing. I mean, they have to find a cure for Will.

Stranger Things season 2 comes out this Halloween.
