Donald Glover Thinks That Lando Wouldn’t Want The Millennium Falcon Back After TFJ

Now that Han Solo's out of the story in Lucasfilm's sequel trilogy, fans have begun wondering whether they'd like to see Lando get the Millennium Falcon back in Star Wars: Episode IX. Though some fans would love to see the ever-suave gambler appear in Star Wars: Episode IX, young Lando Calrissian star Donald Glover thinks the character still doesn't want the Millennium Falcon.

Speaking in an interview with Cinema Blend, Glover was asked about how he'd react if he saw Lando make his way back to Lucasfilm's galaxy far, far away in the next entree in the studio's sequel trilogy. Though the Solo star feels like having Lando fly the Falcon again would be a cool moment for the franchise, Glover feels like the character wouldn't want to hang on to the ship.

"I think that might be sweet. I know now that Han's gone, it might be kind of nice and sentimental in a good way to see that coming back. I feel like Lando might give it to somebody else. You know? To be like, 'It's not mine anymore.' He has a city he probably has to run," Glover explained.

Of course, there's also the fact that Lando doesn't own the ship anymore. Han won it fair and square, and now that he's gone, killed by his very own son in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the ship is Chewie's to fly. After all, Chewie's been Han's co-pilot for decades, the ship should pass on to him.
