Doctor Strange Star Benedict Wong On His Status In Multiverse Of Madness

After making his debut in Doctor Strange, Benedict Wong has been starring as Wong in other major Marvel movies like Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. However, while Marvel announced that Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen would return in the Doctor Strange sequel, the studio never really confirmed whether or not Wong would appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Wong though seems pretty confident that he's going to make a return. The actor spoke with Deseret News in Salt Lake City during the FanX Salt Lake City Comic Convention (via CBR), and during the interview, the Marvel star was asked whether he'd appear in Doctor Strange 2.

"Yeah, I think so. I hope so. As far as I know," Wong told the publication, "I tend to find out with everyone else. I think I'm probably the last one to know. When I get the call, you know, I'm there."

It seems very likely that we'll get to see Wong in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Wong is closely tied to the Sorcerer Supreme – he'll be there with Cumberbatch.

Of course, this is exciting news. The Multiverse of Madness has been called the first "scary film" that Marvel's ever done, and it's going to be great to see Wong together with Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch. Wong was a pretty fun side character in the original Doctor Strange movie. We're it'll be fun seeing him interact with Scarlet Witch.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is one of the many films Marvel has prepared for Phase 4 of the MCU. The film is set to premiere on May 7, 2021.
