There's still not a lot known about Doctor Strange's sequel. Even with actor Benedict Cumberbatch giving his praise and blessing to have Scott Derrickson return as director and with Derrickson's own plans for the sequel already mulling in his head, most of the progress with Doctor Strange is related more to his presence in Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Infinity War.
That doesn't mean that there isn't any progress behind the scenes. Answering some fan questions thrown his way via Twitter, Derrickson revealed that there is a very valid reason why Brother Voodoo will be in the next Doctor Strange movies.
For those who may have forgotten the scene, this was at the New York Sanctum Sanctorum, where the last guardian Daniel Drumm was killed personally by Kaecilius. That's a pretty good set-up of Brother Voodoo, if you ask me, so if Derrickson does end up directing the sequels, we may see a fluid introduction with that anchor for it.
It's also possible that Doctor Strange will be one of those movies with a trilogy. Most of Marvel's solo movies are actually trilogies, but this hasn't been confirmed yet for Doctor Strange.
Doctor Strange is already out for its Blu-ray and Digital HD home releases.
