DIsney's Live-Action Aladdin to Begin Filming This Year, Casting Call Released

Disney is making a live-action adaptation of another one of its animated classics, Aladdin, and the studio has hired Guy Ritchie (Sherlock Holmes, RocknRolla) to direct the film. We finally got production details thanks to a casting call that was tweeted out on Wednesday.

The casting call is seeking for actors or actresses who are talented in singing and dancing. They would play the Middle Eastern lead characters, Aladdin and Jasmine. This is an open casting call so anyone can audition but hopefully, the roles won't get white-washed. The post also reveals that the rehearsals will begin on April, and the film will begin filming in July this year in the UK.

At the moment, Disney has been focused on promoting the live-action adaptation Beauty and the Beast, which is set to release in theaters on March 17, 2017.
