After forty years of Star Wars and voice acting, Mark Hamill finally gets his own star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame today.
Celebrating with Hamill and all his fans, Disney's decided to honor the Star Wars legend with his own #JediDay for the Luke Skywalker actor. #JediDay is a little celebratory marketing run where Star Wars fans are asked to take to social media to combine the Jedi Day hashtag and combine it with #TheLastJedi to help everyone remember Hamill's moving return as Luke Skywalker in Star Wars The Last Jedi.
The hashtag movement not only serves as the celebration of Hamill's new star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but a reminder that Star Wars fans can see Hamill's powerful performance as Luke in Star Wars: The Last Jedi which is to receive both its Digital and Blu-Ray release later this month.
Despite being one of the most divisive films in the Star Wars franchise, The Last Jedi experienced overwhelming critical and commercial success. Though some fans didn't quite appreciate the way the film subverted fan theories and played around with Star Wars lore, there is a number who have enjoyed the film and appreciate the risks The Last Jedi decided to take.
We can't wait to see where Lucasfilm's going to take us with Episode IX next year.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is getting its Digital HD release on March 13 and its Blu-Ray and DVD release on March 27.
