Deadpool director Tim Miller was reportedly working on the script for the sequel for the planned 2018 release, but according to Deadline, he is stepping out of the project over a series of creative differences with star Ryan Reynolds. Variety has a source that confirmed the news.
While Reynolds was the mastermind behind the project, Miller was also integral in making the film a huge success, leaking CGI test footage in 2014 that made a lot of fans happy. Deadpool also grossed over $780-million worldwide, and is currently the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time. Deadpool also elevated Reynolds' career to the another level. He serves as a producer for both movies.
The report says that Miller's exit was amicable, and the filmmaker has signed up on another Fox project, Influx, based on a novel by David Suarez. We'll let you know once as we learn more.
Now that Miller has walked out, who do you want to see direct Deadpool 2?
