Director Rian Johnson Teases A Massive Explosion In The Editing Room For Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson is actually very active in social media, and we've been getting bits and pieces of TLJ thanks to him. His latest share comes from Instagram, and he gives fans a look inside the editing bay of the movie.

Check it out:

That is one massive screen just for editing, and you can also see that there's a huge explosion going on in a scene. What is it? The explosion of a Resistance Base? A starship? I guess we'll just have to watch the movie to find out.

Just like The Force Awakens and A New Hope, The Last Jedi is said to strike some similarities with Empire Strikes Back in the sense that the protagonist will be away training with a wise old Jedi master, and the Rebels/Resistance will be on a state of disarray after a huge attack from the Empire/First Order.

Though some fans may not like the sound of another retread, director Rian Johnson confirms that his story is totally new, and it will bring some fresh elements to the world of Star Wars. Then again, the way these things go, fanboys will always find something to complain about, no matter how good you make the movie.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi comes out Dec. 15.
