Did The New Magic: The Gathering Theros Beyond Death Art Just Feature A Phyrexian?

Wizards of the Coast recently featured a new Magic: The Gathering art on its website, and it's an illustration for a card for the upcoming set, Theros Beyond Death. The art features Elspeth in the underworld and on top of her, there seems to be a dark creature that looks familiar to Magic fans.

Twitter user Drunk_MTG pointed out its resemblance to the Phyrexian creature called "Phyrexian Negator".

The art format suggests that this is for a Saga enchantment card from Theros Beyond Death.

If Elspeth would have nightmares about anything, it would definitely be Phyrexia. After all, she sparked while being detailed by Phyrexians as a child, and it's one of her nightmares. Since Ashiok is presented as a villain to her in the Theros Beyond Death trailer, it's likely that the Nightmare Muse is making her have those nightmares.

Let's take a closer look at the new art here:

Another Twitter user, Chase Caroll, pointed out how the art for "Elspeth, Sun's Nemesis" may have featured Phyrexian oil.

What could this possibly mean? Is this hinting the return of Phyrexians? Feel free to discuss in the comments section below.
