Diablo 3 Brings Necromancer & New Loot

Blizzard seems bent on delivering a lot of interesting new features for its games. If the new hero in Overwatch isn't enough, then there's the new class for Diablo 3.

Detailed over the Battle.net blog, the developer confirmed that the Necromancer is the new fully-playable class for Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls.

"As a master of the dark arts, you draw your magic from the power of death itself, and command mighty armies of risen warriors! Oh, and you can make corpses explode. There are definitely exploding corpses"

By that last part, the developer showed as a sample some exploding corpses that can take out what appear to be enemy hordes about to attack the Necromancer. It's a pretty badass way to deal with horde enemies and make good ammo use of the dead in the battlefield.

This new Necromancer is a different one from the previous game. Blizzard is offering the Necromancer as either a playable male or female nephalem hero. Even with the difference, Blizzard assured fans that this new class is a reimagining of its predecessor. It just has quite a number of differences, such as the Corpse Explosion move.

The Necromancer will arrive in the game as part of the Rise of the Necromancer Pack, coming sometime in 2017. To get this, players will need both the Diablo 3 and the Reaper of Souls expansion to access the content.

This new playable class is not the only new content coming to Diablo 3. As part of the pack, players will also unlock the in-game pet, two more character slots, two additional stash tabs for the PC, a portrait frame, pennant, banner, and a banner sigil.
