Each day brings fans nearer to the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story this year. But until now, there hasn't been any official news about the film apart from its synopsis and a few of its cast. In addition, Disney and Lucasfilm have not released neither trailer nor teaser for the highly anticipated film. Naturally, fans will get frustrated.
Any detail, even rumor, about Rogue One will be considered by many as a welcome surprise. Well, there's a new interesting rumor about a cameo in Rogue One.
According to Making Star Wars, which has broken quite a number of spoilers for Star Wars: The Force Awakens last year, a quick description for a potential Han Solo cameo has been revealed. The cameo is described by the site below:
We have heard of a cameo moment that pretty much has Han Solo playing a BoShek type that simply refers the rebels to people to hire. There was a rumor that Jabba the Hutt brokered information to the rebels. That might explain the rumor that they wanted the young Han Solo role cast so he could have a cameo in Rogue One even though the Solo film will take place about eight years before Rogue One.
MSW further revealed other cameos in the film including bounty hunters from The Empire Strikes Back:
There was another rumor that most of the bounty hunters from The Empire Strikes Back appeared in the alternate to this sequence. That means Bossk, Dengar, 4-LOM, Zuckuss, and IG-88 along with a few bounty hunters from The Clone Wars. Boba Fett is also mentioned for this stuff and one description makes us think Cad Bane is included here.
There's also another cameo rumor about Yoda which is stranger than the rest. The rumor claims that Yoda's cameo will take place on Dagobah itself, where the Master Jedi sends the rebels on their way though he doesn't necessarily provide help.
MSW noted as well that the Rogue One plot description "The story follows a group of bounty hunters who were hired for the job," appears to show that Donnie Yen and Jiang Wen's characters are the two bounty hunters the rebels hired because of their costumes.
It's worth noting that a lot of writers are involved in Rogue One and the cameo they have decided upon won't of course be revealed until the release of the film. So far, everything is based on previous cameo speculations appearing to be pitches or scenes still being filmed.
At this point, everything should be taken with a grain of salt.
Meanwhile, Disney has been busy casting the young Han Solo expected to appear in the untitled Han Solo Star Wars Anthology Film. Because of the rumors, the reason why Disney has been hard at work on casting the young Han Solo despite the film's 2018 release. It could be because the character will be appearing in Rogue One.
