Demian Bichir Joins The Cast of 'Alien: Covenant'

Demian Bichir, the actor who just played as Bob, AKA "The Mexican" in Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight, has been cast in 20th Century Fox's sequel to Prometheus, Alien: Covenant.

Deadline didn't offer any details on his role. He is joining the cast that includes Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston and Danny McBride.

The 52-year-old Mexican actor is best known for playing Detective Marco Ruiz on FX's drama TV series The Bridge, and in 2001, he won an Academy Award nomination in the Best Actor category for A Better Life.

Although we still don't know much about the pre-Alien sequel to Prometheus, we do know that director Ridley Scott is planning to make this film a hard rated-R.

Synopsis:

Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in Alien with Alien: Covenant, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with Prometheus -- and connects directly to Scott's 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world -- whose sole inhabitant is the "synthetic" David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
