There's been a lot of Deadpool 2 set images leaking out on the internet while the raunchy superhero project continues production, and it seems like one of the recent set photos seems to suggest that mutants may find themselves hunted in the Deadpool movie.

Deadpool might have had a few X-Men characters, however it was unclear whether the film was deeply connected with the jumbled continuity of the X-Men films. Now, a new photo that Twitter user @AnimalDesatado took from Deadpool 2's set in Vancouver seems to suggest another tie to the X-Men franchise – the mutant response division.

Check it out down here:

For those who aren't familiar, the mutant response division is a militant unit assigned to hunting down mutants. The MRD began their search in the short-lived animated television series, Wolverine and the X-Men and ever since their appearance in the series, the MRD has popped up in several X-Men comics. Now it seems like a version of the group are heading to the big screen under a different name.

It's unclear what DMC really stands for, but it's very likely that this group is the new face of the MRD. While this group play into Cable's time travel origin? Let's wait and see.

Deadpool 2 hits cinemas June 1, 2018.
