Deadpool 2: Ryan Reynolds Reacts To The Disney/Fox Acquisition News

Yesterday it was revealed that Disney is currently in talks with 20th Century Fox to acquire most of its entertainment assets, and a huge takeaway from this is that Marvel Studios, which is owned by Disney, could be getting the rights back to the X-Men and Fantastic Four. Deadpool is also one of the properties in the list, and star Ryan Reynolds reacts to hearing about the news.

With Deadpool being rated R and the Marvel Universe sticking close to its PG rating, it's definitely curious what would happen to the Merc with the Mouth should the universes merge. A huge part of Deadpool's success was because it stuck to being R-rated, and watering down the property could lead to some angry outcries from fans.

With the Marvel Netflix more on the adult side of ratings, I can imagine that Deadpool can still keep his rated R nature without messing with the MCU formula. Even Tony Stark can be a bit adult with his jokes, but they somehow make it through the sensors. Why not let Deadpool do the same?

As of now, the Disney/Fox acquisition is still in talks, and a turnover of properties may not happen. One thing's for sure, should Marvel get all the rights their characters back, it looks like all the future plans for the X-Men and Fantastic Four franchise will have to change.

I'm betting Deadpool 2 will have something to say about this when it comes out June 1, 2018.
