Deadpool 2 Might Start Four-Film Arc for Cable

X-Men fans have wanted to see Cable in a movie for the longest time, so when Josh Brolin was announced for the role in Deadpool 2, the internet went crazy. Things got even more exciting when it was revealed that X-Force would be making their debut in the movie as well, which can only mean good things.

We know that Drew Goddard is working on an X-Force film and it seems like this movie will be laying the groundwork for it. However, Josh Brolin has hinted that the movie could also set up a four-film arc for his character, which is an interesting thing to think about.

In an interview with Empire Magazine (via Screen Rant), Brolin revealed that Deadpool 2 would be the first part of Cable's arc. If it does well, the character could be appearing in three more films where his arc gets more fleshed out. Should the X-Force film actually come to pass, it could be the second part of Cable's development.

Here's what Brolin had to say about the character's future:

"We think about it in four movie terms. We tried to think of Cable as a full arc, not just in this movie, but in the trajectory of four films. That made it a lot more fun for me. I don't like the idea of a franchise, personally, That's what makes the Thanos thing really great. It's a finite thing, and I like that."

Cable and Deadpool have been a common tandem in recent comics history, so it makes sense to have the former debut on the latter's sequel film. Fans would love to have more movies with these two superheroes, assuming the second movie is well-received by everyone.

Deadpool 2 comes out on May 18.
