DC Spoils Batman/Catwoman Wedding Days Before Batman #50 Hits Shelves

If you're one of the many comic book fans anticipating Batman #50, try to avoid social media for the time being. The New York Times, with full approval from DC Comics, spoiled the outcome in regards to Batman and Catwoman's wedding. We'll be doing that now too but if you don't want to know, feel free to avoid reading this until Wednesday, when the comic book drops.

SPOILERS FOR BATMAN #50

Thanks to one of the most revealing headlines in comic book history, fans now know that the much-hyped wedding between Batman and Catwoman does not happen. As the article explains, Catwoman aka Selina Kyle leaves Batman aka Bruce Wayne standing at the altar. She doesn't do this because of cold feet though; Selina did it to ensure the world still has Batman.

Kyle sends Bruce a hand-written letter explaining why she can't marry him and it's not too surprising, to be honest. She feels that the marriage would have made him happy and that happiness would kill Batman. Feeling that Batman is too important to the world, she decides to sacrifice her happiness with him to ensure that the Dark Knight will always be around.

While not a huge shocker, fans probably would have preferred they not have this information revealed days before the comic hits shelves. Though it's easy enough to avoid spoilers like this, some people do have to go online for their jobs or other different cases. Hopefully, there is some other twist DC is hiding in the issue since the reveal is quite a downer.

Batman #50 hits comic book shelves this Wednesday.
