Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them hit theaters last week, and overall, it was well-received by fans and critics, but this is just the beginning of the pre-Harry Potter franchise, and we already know that there are four more sequels coming, so why four more movies?

When producer David Heyman was asked by IGN why there will be a total of five Fantastic Beasts films, he said that J.K. Rowling made the decision, recalling her deep knowledge of Newt Scamander's story. "She knew his history, knew what his story was, knew where he'd come from, knew the adventures that he went on. It was Jo who made the decision, and she told us a couple of weeks ago."
