Dave Bautista has ‘Tried Everything' to Make a Gears of War Movie Happen

Though the adaptations are rarely good, you can always bet that Hollywood would try to turn popular video games into movies. What's interesting is, Guardians of the Galaxy's Dave Bautista actually wants to star in a Gears of War movie, and he's been trying ‘everything' to make it happen.

Bautista posted this on Twitter when he was tagged in a post that was trying to get him cast in a Gears of War film:

Honestly, I think Bautista could actually pull off a great Marcus Fenix, but I have a feeling he still needs to prove himself as a leading man. If you'll notice Bautista has starred in a lot of high-profile films, but he's only been a supporting character so far. When he does get the lead role, he's basically a generic action man. Maybe studios want him to get a Dwayne Johnson level of charisma before they greenlight him for Gears of War.

Though Gears of War isn't happening yet, Bautista himself isn't short of projects. Besides Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 getting back on track, he's also set to appear in Denis Villeneuve's Dune adaptation. He's also starring in Zack Snyder's upcoming zombie movie Army of the Dead.

For now, you can catch Bautista's Drax in Avengers: Endgame which is now out in theaters. The movie is also set to hit digital this coming July 30 and Blu-Ray/DVD on Aug. 13.
