Dave Bautista Felt Self-Conscious After Seeing Josh Brolin’s Jacked Body For Deadpool 2

Josh Brolin's get up as Deadpool 2's Cable might not have really impressed fans, however it seems to have inspired the Guardians of the Galaxy's Dave Bautista to work harder on his body as production on Avengers 4 continue.

The Hollywood Reporter recently spoke with Bautista about his work on Avengers 4 and in the interview, the Marvel star admits that he actually felt a bit "self-conscious" after seeing the results of Brolin's training as Fox's Cable and Marvel's Mad Titan Thanos.

"I am known for being in shape and being a big guy, and he actually made me self-conscious! I swear to God, I promised him that in November, when I do some work on [Avengers] 4, I told him, 'I will be in better shape for that because you make me self-conscious, fucker!'" the actor swears with a laugh.

"I was out in California in June doing another project, and he walked up to me at Gold's Gym and goes, 'Dave,' and I am looking at him. And he said, 'It's Josh,' and I was like, 'Holy fuck!'" the Marvel star said. "He literally transformed himself in a matter of months. He is a stud. He is not only jacked, but he is shredded. His face is all sunken in like a model. He is like a completely different person."

It's certainly surprising to hear Bautista admitting how insecure he feels when he sees Brolin's body. Bautista might be known now for playing Drax, the thug-turned-hero who never lets anything go over his head, the actor was also a wrestler, and seeing Brolin transform must have made him miss his workouts. We wonder what a larger sized Drax would look like on the big screen.

Avengers: Infinity War premieres May 4, 2018 and Avengers 4 hits the big screen May 3, 2019.
