'Darth Vader' Arrested After Attempting To Rob Florida Store

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Florida - The Jacksonville Beach Police Department says that they've arrested a man dressed up as Star Wars' Darth Vader (with iconic mask and full costume) was arrested after attempting to rob a Jacksonville Beach convenience store.

Firstcoastnews reports that Jacob Jeremy Mercer, 32, was wielding a gun when he entered the 8 til Late store located at 1375 3rd Street South. Survelleilance photos caught his crime.

"We looked at each other for a couple of seconds it was a little scary," said a man who only wanted to go by the name Ricardo.

Ricardo didn't want to reveal his face on camera. He says the suspect's face was bleeding as he was leaving the 8 til Late store.

"He ran to his car sped off driving recklessly through a stop sign and took a right onto first Street, I lost him from there."

A store employee said that he threw a wine bottle at the 'Darth Vader' suspect who was armed with a pistol and demanded money. The suspect then left the store. The suspect was arrested shortly after, the police said.

That sounds badass. Maybe the robber just wants to get some tickets for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which will be released in theaters on Dec. 18.

This isn't the first report about a 'Darth Vader' robber. Earlier this year, a man dressed up as the Sith Lord robbed a bank at North Carolina.
