Dark Horse Reveals Hellboy: Wild Hunt As Basis For 2019 Film

Collectors better start looking around eBay, as Dark Horse has announced that Hellboy: The Wild Hunt is the basis for the upcoming R-rated reboot. Fans of Mike Mignola's long-running comic were expecting this since Milla Jovovich was cast as Nimue the Blood Queen but this listing for the collection confirms it.

Revealed on SyFy Wire, the new collection has a cover that states "the inspiration for the new Hellboy film!" confirming the storyline basis. The collection has all eight issues of Hellboy: The Wild Hunt since Mignola's series was always broken up as multiple mini-series' instead of one big ongoing ala Marvel or DC. It's worth noting that the original paperback of Wild Hunt was billed as vol. 9 since the graphic novels would be collected in chronological order.

Here is a synopsis of the collection:

"Hellboy is called to England to take part in an ancient ritual of hunting giants, but quickly faces a much more dangerous enemy: Nimue, the Queen of Blood, who has risen with plans to create a monstrous army."

This new version of Hellboy: The Wild Hunt costs US$14.99 and comes with a new introduction from Mignola himself. It will hit comic shops on October 10 and bookstores on October 23. It has Mignola as the writer, veteran Hellboy artist Duncan Fegredo, and Dave Stewart on colors.
