Dark Horse Announces New God of War Comic Series

Have you been hoping for some new God of War content? Luckily, Dark Horse has just announced that there will be a new comic book series featuring Kratos and it's going to be set between two of the franchise's biggest games.

Comicbook.com reports that Dark Horse Comics will publish God of War: Fallen God, a new series set between God of War III and 2018's God of War. In addition to that, the cover art created by Dave Rapoza has been unveiled. Check it out below.

Fallen God will follow Kratos as he tries to move on after his battles with Zeus and Athena. Unfortunately, this could be a hard task and he is in danger of losing his mind in the process.

The new comic series will once again be written by Chris Roberson and illustrated by artist Tony Parker. In addition to that, it will be lettered by John Roshell (Overwatch Anthology, Astro City) and colored by Dan Jackson (The Strain, The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys).

The official description for Fallen God reads as follows:

"God of War: Fallen God follows Kratos after conquering Zeus and thwarting Athena. Believing himself to be finally free of his bondage, he sets sail for the desert in an attempt to distance himself from his home and his shame only to find his rage and guilt follow close behind. Kratos rages against the one foe that has proven to be unconquerable—himself. But a war against oneself is unwinnable, and only invites madness."

This is welcome news for fans who enjoyed the previous comic series. Additionally, people who were hoping to learn what happened to Kratos after God of War III are in for a treat.

God of War: Fallen God #1 will be released by Dark Horse on June 24.
