Cyberpunk 2077 Teased On Keanu Reeves' Involvement Several Months Ago

It seems like the world is currently going nuts over Keanu Reeves being a huge part of Cyberpunk 2077. However, it looks like CD Projekt Red actually teased on the actor's involvement in the highly anticipated game several months ago.

Back in March, Reeves' film The Matrix celebrated its 20th anniversary. Interestingly, the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account decided to pay tribute to the film along with one of Neo's iconic images. Check it out below.

"After 20 years The Matrix continues to inspire generations of storytellers. Happy 20th Birthday!" the caption reads. The post also included the hashtag #TheMatrix.

So was this some interesting foreshadowing or just a simple tribute to a movie with a cyberpunk theme? Perhaps it was a little bit of both. After all, Reeves may have already been working with CD Projekt Red back in March so he could portray the mysterious Johnny Silverhand. Not surprisingly, people want to believe that this was a teaser of what they could expect in Cyberpunk 2077.

Reeves himself made an appearance at E3 2019 where he was welcomed by roaring applause. One fan who shouted out "You're breathtaking" at the John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum star was even rewarded for the wholesome heckling with a copy of Cyberpunk 2077. Needless to say, we can't wait to meet Johnny Silverhand next year.

It is still unclear just how big Reeves' role in the game will be. Nevertheless, Cyberpunk 2077 will be available on Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store starting April 16, 2020.
