Earlier today, Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds dropped a couple of images giving fans their first look at Josh Brolin's Cable in Deadpool 2 and while the first one seemed to be an innocent close-up, the second photo teased the appearance of Hope Summers.
With a teddy bear tied to Nathan's leg, the photo seemed to tease the appearance of Nathan's comicbook affiliate, the young post-"M-Day" mutant named Hope.
Now, a new set image taken from the Deadpool 2 set seems to fuel the speculation even further.
YVRShoots has just posted a photo of a stunt performer playing one of Brolin's scenes on the Deadpool 2 set, and while the stunt double's outfit seems innocent enough, the poncho that he has over his shoulder certainly reminds fans of the one that Cable wears in the comics during the arc that featured Hope.
Check the image down here:
It's a pretty addition to Cable's look that Deadpool 2 could have simply adapted from the comics, but the poncho is an iconic costume piece that Hope gets to wear when she returns to the present timeline after traveling through time with Nathan to avoid persecution.
While a poncho might not seem like enough evidence to confirm Hope's presence in Deadpool 2, it certainly seems like a sign.
Deadpool 2 hits cinemas June 1, 2018.
