Could These Be Mads Mikkelsen and Forest Whitaker’s Names in Rogue One?

Last week, details about the production of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story became rumor fodder ever since news broke out that the movie had to do weeks of reshoots. Plenty of reasons were reported since then, and while some of those rumors turned out to be true, most of it were false.

That doesn't mean speculations are stopping however, especially since the movie's release creeps closer each day.

Now, the latest rumor involves the name of the characters of Mads Mikkelsen as well as Forest Whitaker.

According to Making Star Wars, they believe the name of Mikkelsen's character to be "Galen," while Whitaker's character could be Castro.

Speculations began back in September when a Mikkelsen reportedly gave a fan an autograph signed with the name "Galen." Also, over the last weekend, the site claims it saw the name being used during Rogue One production last year. While the speculations could be true, it's worth noting that there's the possibility of the name being a code to protect the character's real name.

As for Forest Whitaker's character, MSW did some research and it came upon the name "Castro," which people had reportedly been calling the actor on set. That said, this will remain a rumor until proven otherwise by any of Disney-Lucasfilm rep.

As with any rumor, take this one with that proverbial grain of salt. MSW had been reliable in the past, but its recent report on those Rogue One reshoots weren't.

This isn't certainly some major news about Rogue One, but character names have hinted the types of roles or personalities they will likely have.

At the very least, we already know about Mikkelsen's character, which he slipped during an interview back in April. As for Whitaker, he is rumored to be some kind of bounty hunter, but from the trailer it seems that he's one of the good guys.

In any case, important questions will likely be answered during the Rogue One panel at Star Wars Celebration Europe 2016, where Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy and Rogue One director Gareth Edwards will be in attendance.

Star Wars Celebration Europe 2016 will be held at London's Excel Centre from July 15 to 17, while Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will hit theaters on December 16.
