Could Star Wars: Battlefront II’s Campaign Have Revealed Rey’s Parents?

Family has always been one of the Star Wars franchise's biggest themes and after the release of The Force Awakens fans started wondering about Rey's (Daisy Ridley) parents.

Now while it might take 3 weeks till the release of The Last Jedi, it seems like Star Wars Battlefront II's campaign's actually teasing the big reveal (via Screen Rant). Focusing on the exploits of the Inferno Squad leader IdenVersio after the end of Return of the Jedi, the Imperial officer eventually defects to the Rebellion along with her squadmate, Del Meeko.

She and Del fall in love and settle down after the Rebellion's victory at the battle of Jakku ended the Empire. The two have a daughter and for a while, everything's alright, till Del gets captured by the first Order.

Kylo Ren interrogates Del for the location of Lor San Tekka and the map leading to Luke Skywalker. After that, Del gets killed by former Inferno Squad member turned First Order officer, Gideon Hask. Before he gets kill though, Del warns Hark not to go after his wife and child, describing his daughter to Kylo Ren as "dangerous."

Could this be daughter be Rey? Speculation just gets worse with Star Wars Battlefront II's campaign leaving Iden and her daughter's fate unresolved before the release of the extra DLC scheduled to roll out around the premiere of The Last Jedi.

It's also possible that this entire thing could be a red herring though. Let's just wait see.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits cinemas December 15, 2017.
