Controversial Nintendo Leaker Claims a New Paper Mario and 2D Metroid Game Will be Announced Soon

Nintendo seems to be in everyone's good graces right now, even after they sort of disappointed fans with the reveal of Bayleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. We're still waiting for one of the company's big Nintendo Directs since that is when they will be announcing their bigger games, with many fans hoping for Bayonetta 3, Breath of the Wild 2, and the recently announced Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition.

Well, it looks like two major surprises may have been spoiled as prolific leaker Sabi has said that there will be a brand-new Paper Mario and 2D Metroid game, which will supposedly be related to the GBA classic Metroid: Fusion. In case you're all wondering why this leaker is prolific, Nintendo themselves have given this leaker a cease and desist order, showing just how accurate his leaks can be.

Take the news with a grain of salt since some leaks can be entirely false, even from the ones that have broken big stories. Whether it's the leakers wanting to rile up gamers or insiders getting false information from their sources, that's just the nature of gaming news these days, especially due to the internet becoming a huge deal.

Honestly, a part of me hopes that the news is true since fans are in desperate need of a proper Paper Mario game. Sticker Star was a disaster and Color Splash for the Wii U was marginally better, mostly getting through due to its writing, so a proper RPG would be nice. As for a new 2D Metroid, some fans might take umbrage with this since it wasn't that long ago when we got Samus Returns for the 3DS but at least it's a new Metroid game.

Chill guys, Metroid Prime 4 is coming.
