Conquest Mode Getting Added To Star Wars Battlefront II?

Star Wars Battlefront II continues to be one of the most divisive multiplayer shooters out right now, thanks to the scandals regarding loot boxes and progression. Not helping is the fact that in-game purchases will return, after somewhat underperforming in sales. Still, the game does have some solid shooting gameplay and players have enjoyed the story mode.

Old-school fans of Star Wars Battlefront will be happy to know that the beloved Conquest mode could be making a comeback. Many considered this mode a staple part of the series, so when EA and DICE rebooted the franchise, fans were shocked to find out that Conquest wasn't included. That could all change, now that EA is listening to fans feedback after all the negative backlash they received prior to the game's release.

In the game's forums, one of the developers teased that the mode was in development when a fan asked if it would be coming to the game. EA and DICE have been updating the shooter with free content after all, so players are hoping to see the mode return. Here is what the developer said:

"We're obviously hearing the requests about a more open, free-flowing large mode like Conquest. Not sure if porting a mode over is the right way to go, but we're definitely working on satisfying that request."

The original Conquest mode had players duke it out in intense shooting action in order to take over command posts and take the area. Players could also eliminate the opposing team to win, which was always fun with the hero characters. Here is hoping it eventually comes to the game.

Star Wars: Battlefront II is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
