Comedy Adventure 'LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures' Premieres In June

A new set of heroes and villains are coming to the Star Wars universe in June. To be introduced to the galaxy far, far away are the characters in the forthcoming animated television series LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures.

The series will debut on Disney XD on Monday, June 20 at 10:00 a.m. EDT.

The action comedy series series will take place between Star Wars: Episode V –The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi. It will follow the adventures of the Freemakers family, composed of sibling scavengers operating a salvage and repair shop in the galaxy far, far away. The family will be joined by several familiar faces and locations featured in previous Star Wars films.

Characters from the Freemakers family include Force-sensitive 12-year-old Rowan (voiced by newcomer Nicolas Cantu) and his smart and spunky older sister Kordi (voiced by Vanessa Lengies). Meanwhile, they also have a charming ace pilot but rogue older brother named Zander (voiced by Eugene Byrd).

Kordi manages the family business, while Zander is the family's self-proclaimed starship expert. Of course, ay Star Wars story wouldn't be complete without a droid. The Freemakers family will also be joined by adopted battle droid from the Clone Wars R0-GR, also known as Roger (voiced by Matthew Wood).

The family's adventures begin when Rowan discovers the ancient and Force-connected Kyber Saber. The Freemakers will be forced to take part in an epic battle against the Empire as they try to restore peace and freedom in space. Their adventures will bring the siblings closer together and will make them realize what it truly means to be a family.

Disney XD (via Comingsoon.net) will showcase a new episode for each day of the entire premiere week of the series. That will take place from June 20 to 23. There's no need to worry about missing out on the first episode too because it will be made available on Video on Demand (VOD), as well as the Disney XD app for tablets, phones, set top boxes, and computers.

It looks like LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures will be a fun addition to the Star Wars saga. Considering the dark tones of the upcoming new films as well as animated series Star Wars Rebels, a comedic and action-packed series could be just what Disney needs to offer variety and keep things fresh and light.
