Comcast Joins Race In Purchasing 20th Century Fox

It looks like Disney's got a little competition in its plans to buy 20th Century Fox and 20th Century Fox Television.

Not only is Sony interested in purchasing the studio's movie and TV assets, but a new report by Deadline reveals another player joining the race. According to the publication, Comcast Corporation, a global telecommunications conglomerate and the world's largest broadcasting and cable television company, is also looking to acquire 20th Century Fox's movie and TV divisions.

There aren't that many details regarding the negotiations between 20th Century Fox and the different studios and companies looking to acquire its assets at this point in time, however, it seems like Disney seems to be one of the biggest contenders. There are a lot of Marvel fans hoping that Disney will successfully purchase 20th Century Fox and 20th Century Fox TV because the sale would mean that the film rights to displaced Marvel characters like the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and Deadpool would be able to make its way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

However, if Comcast were to successfully acquire the studio and its assets, the company would become the owner of another Hollywood Big Six movie studio (since they already have NBC Universal). Let's just wait and see what happens with all the negotiations.
