Colin Trevorrow Confirmed to Direct Jurassic World 3

Colin Trevorrow brought to life Jurassic World, but couldn't come back to direct the sequel since he was attached to direct Episode IX. With Lucasfilm firing him, Trevorrow has been confirmed to be coming back for the third Jurassic World film.

While promoting Ready Player One, Steven Spielberg himself confirmed with Entertainment Weekly:

"Colin Trevorrow is going to write and direct the third Jurassic World story."

When Trevorrow was still attached to Star Wars, he was still able to take time to produce the upcoming Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Directing duties were then handed over to J.A. Bayona. Fans of the first Jurassic World will probably be thrilled to hear that Trevorrow is now back at the helm for the third movie.

A lot of negative light had been shown at Trevorrow when he was fired by Lucasfilm, saying that his success from Jurassic World had made Trevorrow really ‘egotistical' and ‘hard to work with.' Add to that Lucasfilm was said to have gotten the cold shoulder when Trevorrow's The Book of Henry ended up bombing in the box office.

Hopefully Trevorrow will have a chance to redeem himself when it comes to this third Jurassic movie. I mean, we still haven't seen the second film, but hopefully Jurassic 3 will address all of Trevorrow's shortcomings with the first movie.

Catch Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom on June 22.
