There've been a lot of great movies this year, but it seems like Coco and Your Name have both been chosen as Reddit's top two movies of 2017 by a circle of movie buffs.
A poll asking about netizen's favorite film of 2017 has been put up on Reddit, and it looks like Disney and Pixar's critically acclaimed musical drama Coco has taken the top spot in the survey. Coming in behind it is Makoto Shinkai's beautifully animated movie, Your Name. In third place is Blade Runner 2049, and in fourth and fifth is Lady Bird and Baby Driver.
While Coco and Your Name are both good films, the Reddit community's method of selection is pretty nontraditional. The YouPoll seems to have listed about 96 films for Redditors to select, asking members to rate each of the film's selected. The rankings were then decided by the mean scores of each movie. This means that divisive movies like Star Wars: The Last Jedi stay at the lower end of the list (the movie ranked 56th).
Interestingly enough, the list didn't include Logan and films released right before Wolverine's swan song like Get Out. Films like Call Me By Your Name and The Post didn't get a spot either.
How about you, what's your favorite film of the year? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.
