Cloak and Dagger Showrunner Wants Crossover With The Runaways

Cloak and Dagger is the latest Marvel television program coming out, with fans excited to see the underrated street heroes in live-action. Mostly known for being supporting characters in the Spider-Man books, the duo has been used to tackle a number of serious topics, like drugs and teenage runaways. The latter half, in particular, is why fans want to see a crossover between this show and The Runaways.

Thankfully, the showrunner of Cloak and Dagger feels the same.

Showrunner Joe Pokaski spoke with The Hashtag Show after the program's pilot episode was received positively from the fans at WonderCon. Pokaski discussed how he would love to have a crossover between the two shows, being a fan of The Runaways himself, though he did bring that it could be troublesome.

"I hope so. I mean it was really important for the first season to really establish Tandy and Tyrone, even as people before they become superheroes… But I'm a big fan of what Josh [Schwartz] and Stephanie [Savage] did on "The Runaways" and we're always talking about when do we get to do our crossover. There's probably 400 lawyers in the way… I'm excited for however Cloak & Dagger can play in the universe."

Fans of the comic books know that Cloak and Dagger actually appeared in the early issues of The Runaways, being tasked by The Pride to find their children. After a typical Marvel misunderstanding, the two groups made peace and the duo attempted to help the group before The Pride erased their memories of the event. How a television crossover between the two shows will take place is interesting since Cloak and Dagger are still starting out and are roughly the same age as The Runaways.

Cloak and Dagger debuts on Freeform on June 7. The Runaways can currently be streamed on Hulu.
