One of Guardians of the Galaxy's highest moments was when Star Lord helped save the entire galaxy from destruction by grabbing the Power Stone despite the well-known fact that he could have died from the Infinity Gem's massive power surge. Though he held out for a few seconds, Chris Pratt's playboy smuggler was on the brink of death and would have definitely been obliterated if the rest of the team hadn't decided to join hands and take on the stone's energy.
Now, as Peter Quill and the rest of the team go on another exciting space romp in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Pratt teases how the stone has affected Star Lord's body in the sequel. Comicbook reports that the Parks and Rec star revealed to the public during a media set visit what the Power Stone has done to Peter Quill.
"It plays a certain role. His interaction with the Infinity Stone in the first movie becomes - there's a thread there that gets pulled in the second movie, like you get to know a little bit more. But yeah, that wasn't an unimportant aspect of who he is."
While it doesn't look like Quill will be getting any powers from the Power Stone in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Pratts answer tells us that the Infinity Stone plays an part in the thread that affects the sequel of the original Guardians fo the Galaxy. Let's see where that thread takes us later this year.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 makes its big cinematic debut on May 5, 2017.
