Chris Hemsworth Talks the Men in Black Reboot

Sony is once again planning to reboot the Men in Black franchise, and they've hired Thor: Ragnarok stars Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson to star. Hemsworth gives an update on the status of the film and what we could expect from the story.

Talking to Variety (via Digital Spy) during a red carpet event for Avengers: Infinity War, Hemsworth explains:

"We're developing the script now. We're basically trying to put a lot of humor in to it like the previous ones. These are obviously some big big shoes to fill, so we're working our butts off on it to make something pretty epic and fun. They're trying to change up the locations, make it feel unique and different to the last ones as well. So I think you might even see some different countries, maybe. Some different cities than you've seen in the previous Men in Black movies."

The concept of having a Men in Black/21 Jumpstreet crossover was also in talks for a while back, but plans for that film have been scrapped.

After Sony's loss with Ghostbusters (2016), they'll have to be a bit more careful when it comes to these sequel/reboot films. They found surprising success when it came to Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. Who says they can't capture the same magic with an all-new MIB?

The Men in Black reboot/spinoff is aiming to come out on June 14, 2019.
