Chris Evans Will Start Shooting Infinity War This May; Talks About His Marvel Contract Ending

We may have already been getting set photos of Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen on the set of Infinity War, but one of the movie's main players, Chris Evans (Captain America) has yet to start shooting his parts. As it turns out, Evans doesn't have to be on set until May.

In an interview with Ellen, Evans explained, "They've been filming since February. I don't start 'til May. There's so many people involved."

Evans was then asked about his future in the MCU and whether he would be dressing up as Captain America again, to which he said:

"My contract is up. I have Avengers 3 and 4. We do Avengers 3 now, 4 is the latter part of the year. Then after that, that is the end of my contract."

Surely a lot of fans are sad to see Evans go, but it has been reported before that Captain America: Civil War had already seen Steve Rogers lose his Captain America mantle — what with leaving The Avengers and giving back his iconic shield.

It's hard to see where Marvel goes forward after Avengers 4, but it's possible that someone else would take on the role of Captain America. Best contenders are either Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson a.k.a. Falcon, and Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes a.k.a. The Winter Soldier.

First Hugh Jackman with Wolverine and now Chris Evans; looks like we're going to see a lot of heroes officially ending their run on the big screen soon.

Avengers: Infinity War comes out on May 4, 2018.
