Chris Evans Says He Liked Picking Up Mjolnir More Than Cap’s Shield

Captain America's Shield might be the signature weapon of Steve Rogers, but it looks like Chris Evans enjoyed swinging around Thor's (Chris Hemsworth) hammer Mjolnir than Captain America's very own shield in Avengers: Endgame.

The Marvel star just recently went on an interview with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon to talk about everything Endgame, and during the discussion, Evans was asked what it was like to film the movie that marked the end of his time as Captain America. Fallon recalled audiences going crazy when Captain America picked up Thor's hammer and was proven worthy in Endgame, asking Evans which was a cooler experience for him, lifting Captain America's shield for the very first time or lifting Mjolnir.

"Hammer," Evans said. "Well, you know the Shield was destined for the character. The hammer was kind of this period at the end of a sentence in terms of his worth, and it was nice. And the Russo's know how to build those moments. I'll say the hammer."

It was a cool moment for Captain America – though it did cause a plothole in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not only did Cap get to wield Mjolnir, but thanks to the hammer, the Avenger also got to use lightning on Thanos (Josh Brolin). This scene directly contradicts what Odin told Thor in Thor: Ragnarok. In the film, fans get to hear the Asgardian King tells his son that his hammer isn't the source of his power. However, we get to see Captain America wielding the same power thanks to Mjolnir in Endgame.

It's still a cool scene though, one that fans won't forget.

Avengers: Endgame is currently available on Digital HD, Blu-Ray, and DVD.
