We never heard Chewbacca speak a comprehensible word in the Star Wars films, but it turns out that Peter Mayhew actually had dialogue in English, and for the first time, fans can watch it happen in this behind-the-scenes video shared by Mayhew on Twitter.
In this rough cut from Star Wars: A New Hope, we see Chewbacca speaking in English to Han Solo (Harrison Ford). The footage was found by Filumentaries filmmaker Jamie Benning. It's strange watching our favorite Wookiee speak in English accent. Watch the video here:
