Chewbacca Actor Peter Mayhew To Tweet Pages of Original Star Wars Script Daily

Chewbacca actor Peter Mayhew will be tweeting out his original Star Wars: Journal of the Whills script on Twitter beginning today.

To celebrate the start of Star Wars: Episode VIII production, Mayhew tweeted, he will be sharing the coffee-stained, well-thumbed script on Twitter "a few pages at a time".

The Adventures of Luke Starkiller as taken from the Journal of the Whills was George Lucas' first brainstorm of the movie that would eventually be Star Wars: Episode IV, and as such reads very differently to his final script.

Here's what the press release said on Mayhew's announcement: "Peter's script along with Peter's wookiee coffee thumbprints and notes scrawled on the pages are a treat to read and brings us back to the root of what made Star Wars great".

Production for Episode VIII officially began on Monday, and the cast and crew celebrated the first day of filming. You can watch the production video with Luke Skywalker here.

Star Wars: Episode VIII is scheduled to hit theaters on Dec. 15, 2017.
