James Mangold's brutal but grounded Logan has been considered by many as one of the best superhero films with fans and critics praising Hugh Jackman's final run as Wolverine and Patrick Stewarts portrayal of a mentally unstable Professor X. Fans also loved the breakout performance of Dafne Keen, enjoying her intensity and her tenacity in the film.

However, while many look forward to having Keen return to the big screen as the X-Men franchise's fierce Spanish-speaking mutant, it seems like the Logan production may have at one point considered an older X-23 for the film.

Aaron Sims Creative (ASC), the award-winning concept design and visual effects studio has just rolled out a set of early concept art for Logan featuring a teenage Laura Kinney. There's also character designs featuring more frightening versions of Caliban too. Check them down here:

While an older Laura would have definitely been cool to look at (and would have reminded fans of her teenage self when she debuted in X-Men: Evolution), it would have caused some issue with the film's plot where Transigen has been developing mutant children for warfare. Besides, Logan did really well casting Keen as Laura – it was adorable hearing her beg Logan to take her to Eden in Spanish. What you have preferred a teen-age X-23?
