It's no mystery that the release of Star Wars Battlefront II has been a PR nightmare, but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy other Star Wars games that are set to release before The Last Jedi. Lenovo has their app-based AR game Jedi Challenges, and Mr. Sunday Movies gives us a good look at the game.
Check it out:
Besides swinging around your lightsaber—which is probably the main hook of the game—the headset also comes with a bunch of different playing options like Strategic Combat and Holochess. It's fun how the combat can span from different eras in the franchise, and you can go anywhere from the prequels to the sequel trilogy.
As for the lightsaber dueling, you have to give them credit for making realistic movements when it comes to villains. Vader really lumbers around like a giant robot person, and Darth Maul just jumps all over the place. I just kind of wish there was an option to play as a Sith and spar with some Jedi.
What's also cool is, since the game is app-based, you should expect regular updates and free stuff, so you won't get too bored for long.
There's disturbance in the Force. Arm yourself with this #AugmentedReality Lightsaber and train to become a Jedi Master with Star Wars: Jedi Challenges. Players can perfect their lightsaber skills by taking on some of the most menacing villains the Dark Side has to offer, command Rebel forces against the evil Empire in large scale ground wars, and outwit their opponents in Holochess. The smartphone-powered Lenovo Mirage AR headset pairs with the Lightsaber Controller similar to the one wielded in the Star Wars films by Anakin Skywalker, Luke Skywalker, and Rey.
